Maintaining your car’s battery

1. Conduct a battery check after every 5000 kilometers interval.
2. Alternately conduct the check every time you change oil.
3. Do not yank at the battery terminal, that way you could harm the battery post. Use a pair of pliers to unloosen the cables.
4. Use sand paper to clean the terminal posts and terminals.
5. Check on the electrolyte level in the battery. If empty or less than optimum, top off with distilled water.
6. Check all cable ends including those connecting to ground to ensure that the connections are tight and free of fault.
7. While reconnecting cables, begin with the positive side and finish with negative side.
8. Applying petroleum jelly on terminals and bolts will retard corrosion.

do all car batteries still use distilled water as electrolyte?(may sound like a really stupid question, but i remember reading that there are other solutions used as well). anyway, you are doing an amazing job shrawan! keep up the good work.
